Server installs and migrations, without the drama.
Cascadia Technology Advisors plans, installs, and migrates servers for businesses of 10 to 100 people across Sherwood, Tigard, Tualatin, and the Portland metro. A new server in the closet, a move to Microsoft 365 or Azure, or a mix of both: the work is scheduled around your business, tested before cutover, and documented when it is done. Kyle has been building Windows servers since Server 2003.
New hardware, the cloud, or both.
Some businesses need a new server. Some need to stop having one. Most need an honest look at what the current server is actually doing before anyone buys anything.
- Right-sizing: what you need, not the biggest box
- Procurement through Dell and HPE
- Rack and stack, RAID, and remote management done properly
- Virtualization on Hyper-V, VMware, or Proxmox
- Windows Server and Active Directory built clean
- Backups configured and test-restored before go-live
- Aging server to new hardware
- On-premise to Microsoft 365, SharePoint, or Azure
- Business applications and SQL databases moved with your vendor
- Servers past end of support replaced and retired
- Cutovers after hours or over a weekend
- Old hardware wiped and retired safely

No surprises on Monday.
Most migration headaches come from something nobody knew the old server was doing. The process is built to find those first.
Find everything
Inventory what lives on the server: files, applications, printers, scheduled jobs, and the quiet things nobody remembers until they stop working.
Build and test
The new environment is built alongside the old one. Data is copied ahead of time, and key applications are tested with the people who use them every day.
Cut over
A final sync after hours, your team pointed at the new system, and the old server kept read-only for a while as a safety net before it is retired.
Straight answers.
What people usually ask before a server project. More on the FAQ page.
Do we still need a server at all?
Maybe not. Many small businesses can move files and email to Microsoft 365 and drop the server entirely. Others run applications that still need one. You will get an honest answer either way, including when the answer is fewer servers.
How much downtime should we expect?
Usually very little. Data is copied ahead of time and the final cutover happens after hours or over a weekend, so your team comes in to a working system.
What does a server project cost?
Hardware and licensing vary a lot by size. Every project is scoped after a look at your current setup and quoted at a fixed price up front, with hardware listed separately so you can see where the money goes.
You will hear back from Kyle personally.
