More than two decades of IT
in your corner.
I'm Kyle Bates, founder of Cascadia Technology Advisors. I started CTA to bring senior-level IT support and guidance to the small and midsize businesses in my own community, the ones that depend on technology every day but are not big enough to justify a full-time IT department.
I have spent more than twenty years in technology. I started where a lot of good technologists start, fixing hardware and solving problems one desk at a time, and over the years I grew into roles that reached a lot further. Earlier in my career I supported executives at a global software company, and I once led a service desk that backed more than seventy client companies across a range of industries and states. For the better part of a decade after that, I served as the head of IT for an organization of 225 people spread across 20 locations in three states, owning everything from the servers to the strategy.
That last part is the perspective most outside IT help does not have. I have sat in the chair where the technology, the budget, the vendors, and the business goals all have to line up at once. I know what it costs a business when systems are unreliable, and I know what it feels like to be the person everyone turns to when something breaks.
I tell you this not to impress you with numbers, but so you know the person looking after your technology has run IT at real scale and under real pressure. CTA is a deliberate change of pace. I keep my client list small on purpose, so the businesses I work with get the kind of attention a big number never could.
Here is what I believe: everyone is good at something. Most business owners are excellent at their craft, and that is exactly where their attention belongs. It should not require becoming an IT expert on the side, or fighting with technology that gets in the way instead of getting out of it.
That is the role I want to play for you. I come in, take the time to genuinely understand how your business runs, and become both the steady hand that looks after your technology and the bridge between your business and the systems it depends on. When a technology decision comes up, you will have someone in your corner who understands both sides and will give you a straight answer.
CTA is built for businesses that have outgrown calling a friend when something breaks, but are not ready to hire a full-time IT person. Maybe you already have someone who keeps the lights on but is not moving you forward. Maybe you are paying an IT company that treats you like a ticket number instead of a partner. You deserve better than that, and better is the reason CTA exists.
That focus is also why the organization where I spent years leading IT is now one of my clients. They knew my work from the inside, and they chose to keep it. It tells you something about the kind of relationships I build.
I live and work here in the Pacific Northwest, and I want to partner with the businesses around me for the long haul: not to sell you things you do not need, but to build a relationship where your technology quietly does its job and your business is better for it.
If that sounds like the kind of partner you have been looking for, I would like to hear from you.
