Cybersecurity for small and medium businesses, without the fear pitch.
Cascadia Technology Advisors helps businesses of 10 to 100 people across Sherwood, Tigard, Tualatin, and the Portland metro put practical security in place: the handful of protections that stop most real attacks, set up properly and kept up over time. No scare tactics and no 40-page reports. You work directly with Kyle.
The protections that actually matter.
Small business security is mostly a few unglamorous things done well and kept up. CTA puts them in place, checks they are working, and tells you plainly where you stand.
- MFA on email and every account that supports it
- Managed endpoint protection and EDR on every computer
- Email security and phishing filtering
- Patching for Windows, Microsoft 365, and your apps
- Backups kept separate and test-restored, so ransomware is a bad day, not the end
- Former employees removed the day they leave
- Microsoft 365 security review
- Email domain protection: SPF, DKIM, and DMARC
- Security awareness training for your team
- Cyber insurance questionnaire help
- Written security plans for regulated work like HIPAA and the FTC Safeguards Rule
- Incident response planning and the First Hour guide

If you only do three things, do these.
None of these require a big budget. All three close the doors attackers use most often against small businesses. The free IT preparedness checklist covers the rest.
Turn on MFA everywhere
Most account takeovers start with a stolen or reused password. MFA on email, banking, and remote access stops the vast majority of them, and it is usually the cheapest fix on this list.
Prove your backups work
Ransomware is survivable when your backups are kept separate from your network and have actually been restored once. If nobody can say when that last happened, start there.
Close the doors you forgot
Old employee accounts, shared passwords, and remote access tools left behind by a past vendor. A short review almost always turns up at least one.
Straight answers.
What small business owners usually ask first. More on the FAQ page.
Are we too small to be a target?
Most attacks are automated and never check company size. Phishing, stolen passwords, and invoice fraud hit 10-person offices every day, often because they have the fewest defenses.
Our cyber insurance asked about MFA and EDR. Can you help?
Yes. Insurers increasingly expect MFA, endpoint detection and response, and tested backups. CTA can put those in place and help you answer the questionnaire accurately.
What does it cost?
The essentials are usually part of a monthly managed IT plan. A one-time security review is quoted at a fixed price up front, with a plain list of what to fix first.
You will hear back from Kyle personally.
Every message goes straight to Kyle, the founder of CTA. You will usually hear back the same business day. From there, a short call to understand your setup and what is worrying you, with no pressure and no obligation. If something is happening right now, call or text instead.
